Navarro to offer new Fast Track program Navarro College in conjunction with local business and industry will offer a software development certificate beginning this fall 2007 semester to assist students in expanding their programming skills under the newly created Fast Track Software Development Program. - More -
This first nine-month Fast-Track program will begin August 27, 2007 and will consist of 11 academic computer science courses equaling 37-semester hours with the courses taught online sequentially over two 16-week semesters ending on May 6. Twenty-five students will then be competitively selected through a screening process to select the most qualified candidates for the program. Preference will be made to those interested students who hold a Bachelor’s degree, but will accept students with at least an Associate’s degree. Upon successful completion of the program, students are guaranteed an interview for employment at the newly establish Corsicana offices of Northrop Grumman - a $30 billion global defense and technology company whose 122,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in information and services, electronics, aerospace and shipbuilding to government and commercial customers worldwide. Five information sessions dates have been set to answer questions by eligible candidates: June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Navarro College Cook Education Center Atrium on the Corsicana campus; June 19 at 6:30 p.m. on the Navarro College Waxahachie campus, Room 155B; June 20 at 6:30 p.m. on the Navarro College Mexia South Campus; June 21 at 6:30 p.m. on the Navarro College Midlothian campus; and July 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Navarro College Cook Education Center -Atrium on the Corsicana campus. To participate in the program interested students must complete and submit an application to Navarro College and also complete the screening process.
